Foot Stomper

A4H PinBlog Foot StomperI’m a foot-stomping, hands-on-hips, head slightly cocked, kind of girl.  The good Lord gave me red hair so I’ve got a fiery stereotype to live up to!  There are many perks to this, “don’t tell me what to do” disposition.  I am not easily swayed, I lead rather than follow, I am never at a loss for words, and I am not one to give up.  Once I make up my mind, I push through the best of my abilities.  Finally, I am fiercely loyal.

Often times, our strengths can be our weakness.  Not being easily swayed may manifest as legalism, leadership as dominance, speaking as stage-hogging, and not giving up as stubbornness.  Every ability or gift we have is from the Lord.  “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights… (James 1:17a)”  All of our gifts should reflect the Father of lights, His faithfulness to us and our loyalty to Him.  When I give a gift to someone, I want them to enjoy it, use it and even share it with others.  My hope is for the receiver to know I think of them as unique and valuable.  The gifts the Lord gives us are not meant to stagnate or cause others harm.  We are called to use our gifts-not to abuse them.  This is also true of our bodies, muscles that are not used will weaken, even to the point of atrophy.~ A4H ~

Action: Ask someone close to you, whom you trust, what they believe one of your God-given gifts to be, take it to heart and thank the Lord for giving you such a gift (and such a wonderful person in your life to ask)!

“Your greatest fulfillment in life will come when you discover your unique gifts and abilities and use them to edify others and glorify the LORD.” –Neil T. Anderson
